INVERCARGILL, August 16. Mr R. Rauchop, who; with Mr JV. R. Entrinan, State Forest .Products Engineer, leaves by the Tamaroa for England to) finalise, ifi .possible, the negotiations entered into with'an English firm fcr the ■ supply of a large quantity., of beech for motor body building, Was met this afternoon by the Saw millers’ Guild, who wished him ooii voyage and cyjcccss in his important mission, - \ , Almost! all of the sawmilling' intsr- " ests in Southland were represented, and millers front Otago were also, present. ' • ‘ _ .. ■ “There is justification for our feeling that at no previous time have tho prospects been. so. .bright for a fillip being given to the sawmilling industry of Otago and Southland,” said Mr J>. J., Wesney,i who presided. “We all hope that the order, will be, secured;' and that it willK be but the;forerunner, of prosperous business for the millers,’ and of increased employment for the timber Workers.
