ALTITUDE OF 17 MILES. (United Press Association —By Electric 1 Telegraph—Copyright.) BERLIN, August 15. A small un-named balloon, ..with a gondola fitted up with scientific instruments, was sent up at Stuttgart by Professor Regener. The balloon ascended to a height of over seventeen miles. One instrument alboard showed jthat the power of.the.sun’s rays was almost constant to a height of thirty-nine thousand feet, after which their power increased greatly.
