POLICE ACTION IN GERMANY.

The German police are inaugurating a war a'gainst the nudist beauty show* At the same time ;he Paris authoritiesare also taking more drastic steps in this regard. Five lorry loads of gendarmes raided a Seine beach at Chois Le-Roi, near Paris, during the sunniest hours of the afternoon, when!-‘it was crowded with naked and isenn-elothed bathers. •
The police rushed to the water’s edge where they seized dozens of the bathers and bundled them dripping-wet; into the police lorries. -.-0 The sun-bathers were given- 1 time'-to slip on their trousers and their frocks.' Thirty. men and women escaped by swimming to boats, but their plight only became worse, as all of the clothes on the beach were impounded: by., the police. The bathers, will be: .charged with illicit bathing, the penalty: for which is a fine of twenty shillings, as a prosecution for indecency would mean six months’ imprisonment.
