LOS ANGELES, August 14
Tbe Olympic Games closing ceremonies took place to-day. They featured a spectacular equestrian jumping competition, known as the Prix Des Nations-
Lieutenant ’Baron (Nishi, of Japan, won the individual honours. ;
All four of the contesting nations’ teams for the championship were disqualified.
The closing programme was impressive. it included the parading of the flags of the nations, the Victory ceremonies, the lowering and presenting of the Olympic Flag to the City of Los Angeles | and the extinguishing of the Olympic Tordh, Ninety thousand people, witnessed the final ceremonies.
N.Z. COMPETITORS’ RETURN. LOS ANGELES, August, 14._ The Australian Olympic athletes will depart for Sydney by the Matson liner “Mariposa’’ on August 25th, The New Zealand competitors will leave by the “Monowai” on August 31st.
