(; “A grave national warning’’ to-the-Government' and the people of Australia'issued by the Graziers’ Association of New South Wales, which', in letters; to the Federal Premier '(Mr Lyons),• and the State Premier (Mp B. S. ,B. Stevens), declares that tlie greatestprimary industry of the ; State iSO.aIH ready disintegrating,-• and borders on a state of financial collapse. “Recovery may still be possible,’’ the Association states, “but only by bold, drastic, and swift action by our national leaders—action which must be complete before the wool export season opens .on August 29.’-’ The Federal Cabinet, at a meeting, decided upon -.the • appointment, of an expert committee to carry out a full investigation of the wool - industry in Australia, with; a, view to determining what‘steps to' bring about a rehabilitation of the,.industry. -Mr Lyons, making the announcement, . said that the oommittee, in all probability, would comprise sevenmembers, but the personnel was not yet completed The deobion of Cabinet followed an interview' which Mr Lyons had with sir Graham Waddell, president of the Woolgrowers’ Council, in Sydney, in the course of which, Mr (Waddell pointed out the urgent necessity for assistance being provided, in order to place the wool industry on . a basis which would ho profitable, to the grower.,,
