There . were some vacancies. South Canterbury had exceeded its quota by three, Havhad three boys available, Mid-Canter-bury one, and North Canterbury, eix, making a tota Jlof ten from Ca-nterbury The funds available, to the local com- - uiit’tee would permit of, only one more boy being'' sent. The Auckland Patri-: t otic Fund had fully financed twentyeight boys from that province.
