Funds have drifted in recant years is causing considerable apprehension, not only in the Government chc.es, but also among •the' members of the Public SerV-ce, who are' contributors either to the Public -Service Superannuation Fund, tlhe Government Railways Fund, or the Teachers’ Fund. --'lt is. understood that a considerable portion of the second part of the National Expenditure Commission’s report, now in the hands of the- Cabinet, Is devoted to a searching inquiry, into the operations of these various funds. ; It is authoritatively stated- -that the whole problem of superannuation will have to be revewed almost immediately the Government if tlhe funds are" to be kept solvent. .Legislation will probably be brought '(town next .session to enforce, widespread changes in the conditions attaching to the pensions of the retired public servants.
