“HER MAJESTY, LOVE.”
Marilyn Miller, star of “Her Majesty, “Love” the First National picture now at the princess Theatre, says that the cast selected for the picture, made the lot seem to her like an Old Home >Veek hack in Evansville, Indiana, where she was horn. So many of the players have been associated with hei, either on the stage or screen. Ben Lyon, who plays romantic lead is. however,' an exception. This is the first time he has been teamed with the /{winkling stftr of “Sally.” Leon Errol, / he of the Unstable undrepinnmg, costarred with Miss Miller in the original stage production of “Sally.” Since then he has followed devious paths in the- theatre and movies, but is back with her again as the aged baron she is ; forced to Wed "in “Her Majesty, Love.” W C. Fields saw service with Miss Miller in Ziegfeld’s “Follies.” He feels that he is at, home again as a member of the cast of her picture, taking the part of her comical father. By toother coincidence, the Warner Bros, casting director assigned the role of a ijitryer in the current' picture to one Alfred James. When James, Sterling aiid Miss killer got together they reddled the fact that James played the sake role in the stage production of ‘‘Sally” .that Sterling;;: played in the , picture version. '• Nor is that all. Pro* 1 dnetibn started with a scene in a sparkling Berlin cabaret and director William Dieterle picked out a woman from a group of applicants to do an important bit in .this: sequence. She proved’ to be ElsaPetersrm who was prom* irtCilit in the stage production of “Sally” jn. Which Marilyn sstarred. The cast of (‘Her Majesty, Love” includes also Harry Stubbs. Chester Conklin, Mamie Eburne, Ruth Hall. Mae Madison end Don Novis The picture is based on the German of R. Bemaner and R- oßSterreicKer. Adaptations are bv Hem-v Blanke and Joseph Jackson. Hundreds of extras take part in the pictu-esoue scenes. Gus Arnheim’s Cocoanut Grove Orchestra of the. Ambassador American Tango Band appear in cabaret sequences. A good selection' of Shorts Will also be shown.
