DOUGLAS ST. GEORGE.
(Per Press 'Association— Copyright.) DUNEDIN, August 3. . The death is announced of Mr Douglas St. George, aged 79 years, a retired Chief Rostra aster. ' Thiel, deceased was well known in Hokitika having been chief postmaster here for teni yeors, taking charge hero fin May,..•. 1903. Hie had been connected with; the Postal Department .since May, 1870. He wag stationed at Waimate and -Bluff before coming to Hokitika. Later hid was in charge at Greymouth and then went on to Dunedin. where he later retired, from the iservids bn aupienannuiation,. Hr iSt. George was a popular and capable officer’, in his .private life won a large circle of friends .in this district.
