DAMAGES AWARDED
SEQUEL TO AN ACCIDENT. (Per Press Association — Copyright .) WELLINGTON, August 1. ‘An accident at Kilbirnie on the evening of May 19th last, in which Charles 'Richard Ingram, a retired public servant , of RoDgotai, was struck by a motor car and : injured, had its sequel in a claim for £BOO damages .against (Robert G«orge Thompson, teVesman, of Miramar,' which conclud-, ed before Mr Justice MacGregor and a jury this evening. , A verdict was. returned in favour of ffngfaifi, awarding him £4OO damages. Til©., car • W.as ■ being driven by a son of Thompson, who was fitting alongside hi'm ; The plaintiff Walked hctoeß the strait, and w*» struck by the oncoming car. Evidence was given indicating tlißt the son gained a driver's license next dav. Thompson, in evidence, snid he took Insram home, and offered to get n doctor, but Ingram saying that it, was 'his ow,n ‘fan't. This was e denied by Ingram’s wife.
