ELECTRICAL STORM
DAMAGE IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
(Australian Press Association.)
(Received this day at 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 1
A severe electrical storm swept the metropolitan area during the night, when lightning disorganised the automatic point-controlling gear at North Sydney station, and caused a temporary interference with the light supplies elsewhere. .Torrential rain and hail in the eastern suburbs did much minor damage to property.
A hailstorm was particularly severe along the South Coast. The weight of accumulated hail caused a garage roof to collapse at Thirroul.
Gardens were destroyed at Austinmere and roads were rendered impassable. "The Bulli Pass was blocked for some time.
