AIRMAN’S DEATH
A NEW ZEALANDER’S CRASH

LONDON, July 29
The New Zealand flying officer, Peter Pharazyn, was killed when a Wapiti day bomber crashed near Canterbury. R. Raiiisay, aviator, gave evidence at the inquest that while he, his wife ami daughter were dining they saw a plane descending. Then it rose, they heard a. crash and saw the tail disappearing in the branches of a tree. They rushed to tile plane which was burning fiercely. He was of the opinion that Pharazyn encountered a sharp bump over the tree. A doctor gave evidence that death W as due to head injuries before incineration.
Flvirig Officer Warrington gave evidence that Pharazyn was experienced
and was unlikely to take unnecessary risks. He was probably struck down by a draught and wtfis brought too low to clear the tree. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
