HOKITIKA MONTHLY MEETING. The Hokitika Harbour Board "met jesterday afternoon when there were present Messrs E. W. Heenan, W. E. itieJiards, N. Warren, and D. P. Stuart. ;Mr Heenan was voted to the mafr. A letter was received from the Jo rough and County Councils reducing charges. The Town Clerk asked, lor authority for rebate on rates, 'and. a number of circular letters were also received. ' The signal man reported the northrest channel in fiiir order, carrying lft to 10ft of water. • Accounts amounting to £33 lbs 9d, and £3lB 17s 6d State Advances were passed for payment. The chairman referred to the passing of Mr J. J. Breeze, who was a former member of the Bohrd and a motion of sympathy with the relatives was passed, members standing .in silence. <'■ , On the nioticn of Messrs Richards and Warren it was decided that no whitebait trenches be permitted to extend from the north bank of the j river,, west of Livingstone Street, , nor from the north side of Butland’s island from the base of. the gtoin eastward to Livingstone. Street, and that the site and length of all other trenches in tidal waters of the river and Mahinapua Greek be subjected to approval by the Board.
