The winter meeting of the Gisborne Racing dub (final - meeting to be hela of the Club, before it merges into tho Poverty Bay- Turf Club, next month), opened: to-day in bad weather, heavy rain falling a frequent intervals. The goingi was fair. The totalisator investments totalled £3,3951, compared with £4,112 on the first day of last year, a decrease of £7161. Results:—

Hack: Hack Handicap.—7 Lady Vane 1, 3 Hawthorn 2, 6 Rasouli 3. Won by one-; and• three-quarters ' of a length. Time 1.18 1-5.

Flying Handicap.—4 Lordly Knight I,' 9 'White Fahg 2, 9 Moa Bird 3. Won by'half a length; one- length.- Time 1.17 4-5.
