A CHARGE! OF ASSAULT. 'Per Press Association— Copyright.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 28. Frank Mitchell, a: shop assistant, of Rkcarton was charged with assaulting Leslie Gordon Taylor at Hornby, diitring *a dance, and was sentenced to one month’s goal by the Magistrate, Mr E. D. Mosley. A Sub-Inspeetoir said that accused hit Taylor with a poker two or: three times.. He was under the infiuenne of ■i-quor. “Anyone who would use this poker on a man would either He not in his right senlges, or out looking for murder,” he added.
