GHASTLY MURDER
WOMAN STRANGLED IN SYDNEY. VICTIM A NEW ZEALANDER. , (Australian Press Association,) SYDNEY, July 27. The body of Miss Hilcla White, aged thirty-three, of Darlinghurst, jvas found in Centennial) Park, close to the city to-day, with many marks of vior lence on the head and neck. A isubseqene examination . a Gov-, eminent medical officer disclosed that the victiln had been subjected, to a. brutal handling, and/had possibly been outraged and .finally' strangled with a, portion of her own underclothing. . ... Miss White is an Aucklander. She came to Australia four and a-half years ago with her mother, sister and brother. She attended a, picture show last night, She was apparently, forcibly carried off in a motor car lo , Centennial Park, where there were to he seen many evidences of her struggles before her death.
Every detective available is investigating the case. . '
A young male acquaintance of the deceased is already being questioned.
