LORRY STRUCK BY TRAIN. (Per Press Association^'’Copyright.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 26. Two men,. Norman Bei-nstseh and George Davison, had a fortunate escape when their lorry was'struck by a train at Smart Road level crossing today, the vehicle being completely wrecked. The lorry, owned by the Taranaki County Council, and driven by Bcmstsen, was crossing the lines at a slow speed, when the men saw the train approaching. Realising they had no lone to cle.-”- the lines both jumped and escaped injure. The engine carried the lorry 2/5 yards along the line.
