CORONATION MEDAL PRESENTED.
'On Saturday afternoon the golf house was the bfeene of ’ai very pleasant function. At the conclusion of the mixed foursome bisque bogey handicap for the trophy, presented, by Mr C. Neville,' the players assembled, and two pleasing events took place. The first of these was this presentation to Miss King: of the Coronation Medal, recently won in open competition among all affiliated Clubs in the Dominion'. The Club Captain (Mr J. G. Macfarlane), in making the presentation, remarked bn the splendid performance put up by Miss King and asked her to accept in additipn a wail filled purse subscribed by members of the Club, to mark the occasion and to show honour to the winner of such a handsome trophy. Mr W E. Brown responding on behalf of Miss King stated she was pleased to have bieii the winner as the Club would share with her the honour and thanked members • for their p:eftpntation. Vocal honours were then accorded Miss King.
Subsequently, Mrs W. Wilson, '“who recently had the good fortune to do’ “the Top Knot” in one, asked the’ ni'embers to mark the occasion by loining .with her in the traditional' manner of such rare events.
Mr J. Irwin, proposing the toast of Mrs Wilrjon, testified to her popularity, and remarked on the geneiosity and assistance of both Mr and Mrs Wilson to the Club for many years. Vocal honours were given the donor and Mrs W. Wilson suitably responded. The bisque bogey handicap proved an interesting form of match and members were generally of the opinion that it was a successful innovation. The handicapping proved y'ery close, and ,Mr and Mrs J. Mclntyre, who are both new players, proved the winners by a sinai’d margin. The additi inal games were either unfinished or no entry was made mi the board. Some of the players wore forced to finish with unused bisques.
