EX-KAISER SUED
CURIOUS CLAIM BY FRENCHMAN
DEATH IN WAR BOMBARDMENT.
PERONNE, July 18
A curious claim for £BOO against the ex-Kaiser has been lodged before the Civil Tribunal of Peroune by M. 'Linden. He alleges that the exKaiser is- responsible for the death of his daughter during the war. . In 1916 the Linden family was residing at the /. French village at Athies, when it Was occupied by the Gormans. Tile French opened a heavy bombardment and M. Linden’s 9-year-old daughter was killed by a Frehcli Siiell.
In the first instance M. Linden claimed compensation from the French Government, onily to find that no pensions. could be paid to the parents of victims under 12 years of age. He now contends that the ex-Kaiser, as Supj feme War Lord, is responsible for all that happened during the war, and that he, or his military advisers, were guilty of criminal neglect in not making proper prpvision for the evacuation of the village of Athies before ihe bombardment commenced.
