WELLINGTON, July 18. >''A statement issued to-day by ;Mr P. G. Roussel!, General Manager of Railways/ indicates that the recent coal miniiig dispute has left its impress on the railway receipts, the total revenue for the four weeks ended June 25tii being £408,933, a decline of £84,359 on the corresponding period last year. ■ /.'Mr Roussell says that the main contributing factor to the decrease was the mining strike. The fall-is to'some extent offset by . economies in expenditure,' the total expenditure, £397,871, for the four weeks being a decrease of ' *£62,899, as compared with last year. 'k The total railway revenue for the twelve weeks since the beginning of 'the financial year on April Ist is £1,416,611, a decrease of £147,885 on the corresponding income last year. A living of £128,5C8 was made in working expenses in the same period.
