There was a much lighter yarding of beef in all grades, especially .prime quality. Prices sbvwied an appreciable rise, .although erratic at \ stages. The best heavy bullocks from the North Island! sold to £l2 2s 6d, . prime £8 6s to £9 12s Gd, medium to £7 7s 6d, light from £5 2s Gd. Best heavy heifers sold to £lO 17s 6d, prime £6 5s to £7 17s Gd, medium’ £4 15s ti £5 12s Gd, light from £3 2s 6d. Heavy prime cows sold to, £lO 2s 6d, prime £q 5s to £6 15s, medium £3 12s 6d to £4 12s Gd, light from £2. Only a sprinkling of fat lambs was offered, and consequently there was a sharp rise in values. Best heavy lambs sold from 16s Id ito 18s 9d, prime lantbs 13s Id to 15s lOd, light from 10s Id to 12s R)d. ;

There was a large yarding of fat sheep, chiefly medium weights of prime quality, which sold at better prices per lb. than the heavy weights. Values generally were firm, and remained consistent.

There was a small, mediocre offering of stone sheep. Attractive ewes created a fair demand. Other gradee were selling qt late rates. There was a medium entry of pork pigs. Raooners were in short supply, j>ml were slightly firmer.
