The weekly meeting took place at Greymouth last -e veiling,

A challenge for the Ditiman Shield was received from the Lake' Brunner Sub-Division.

The Inangahua Rugby Sub-Union issued a challenge to the holders of the' Dittman Shield, suggesting suitably dates as being the last Saturday i,n ! * ’August or the first Saturday in September.

After discussion in committee it was resglved -“That Inangahua Sub-Union’s challenge be not accepted, as it was the ' intention that the Shield should be competed 'for by the West Coast Rugby and -its Sub-Unions ; and that 'Rule 2, viz' ‘To be competed for by the Westland, Inangahua and Grey districts,’ be altered accordingly.” Referees’ reports were received as satisfactory. . ‘ v One application for re-admission to the code was recommended to be forwarded to the New Zealand Union with a favourable recommendation. The New Zealand Rugby Union advised that with regard to the Union’s dhallenge for the Ranfurly Shield the challenge had been confirmed, subject to the Canterbury Union accepting. On the application of the Kumara dub, j'. Ingls (formerly a senior player of the Rimu Club)/'was reclassified from senior to junio r , .he now- being a resident of Kumara. The Greymouth Technical third grade team were granted permission to travel to Hokitika on Saturday to play Hokitika High School. A letter was received from the Harihari School with regard to the iesuing of school footballs, and it was decided to .reply stating that the Westland Sub-Union received an annual grant for the schools in its district.
