Severe injuries to which he succumbed this morning were sustained by Herbert Carroll,- forty, a, settler Pf Taonui, yesterday. Deceased was working with a. horse which bolted.. In its wild career it crushed him against a tree. It was found necessary ■ to’ amputate one arm, and the victim failed to rally.
