MISSING LAUNCH
DEPARTMENT RECEIVES ADVICE. (Per Press Association— Copyright.) WELLINGTON, July 14. . The, Marine Department has received advice that a two-masted launch, bound foi Napier, passed about three miles off Porangahau, about 60 miles south of Cape Kidnappers, at 10 a.in., ye~-terd-y. The launch appeared to have engine troub'e, in view of its distance from land, this could not be defin it ey ascertaifaed. This launch may b e the- “Advance,” a two-masted raunch, 50 feet long, which left Napier on sth July for Wanganui, 'w. th three, men on board, . and did not arrive at her destination. Doubts have been entertained -about her safety, and a search has been made by aeroplane. , The launch has not yet been reported as arriving at Napier.
