Opposition to any proposal to bring bookmakers hack ' to' the fabecoufses in licensed opposition to the totalisation was 'expressed at the annual meeting of, thio New Zealand. Country Racng Clubs Association, which passed the. following remit/for consideration at the next Conference: —“That this Confe-renfce is strongly opposed to any proposal to bring bookmakers hack to racecourses,, as, by so doing, • th!e revenue derived from the tofelisator would he seriously reduced, and baneful 1 results, affecting the best interests O'f rheirig, would undoubtedly follow'.” Remits were also parsed express''*-! the hone that the Government's totalrebate would be made perma-
