The Prime Minister has been advised by t’ e Canadian Government that, as the result of discussions which 'ha vie been proceeding for several months past between His_ Majesty’s •‘Governments, it lias been * agreed that economic qiiestions-of geiroral import? a nee to tire varjpj)s pasts-.of the British Commonwealth might be conveniently discussed under 7 / tlre following' general headings, which will constitute the provisional Agenda for the Imperial Economic Coufurenee: A:—Gijnernl Trade Questions :• lv The examination of aspects of general trade and tariff policies and administration affecting Empire trade, includinter a.lia, the fo lowing subjects; (a) The recognition of the principle Of the reciprocal tariff preferences within the Commonwealth; (b) the general application 'of exiting and future tariff preferences within the Commonwealth ; (c) the extension to other parts of the Commonwealth of tariff advantages accorded to foreign countries; (d) the determination of the percentage of “Empire rontont” necessary to secure preferential tariff treatment ; (e) export bounties und antidumping duty within: the Commonwealth. The commercial dj'ea.ty policy with respect to foreign countries, including inter alia: (a) The relation of interimperial preferences. to concessions to foreign countries; (b) The interpretation of the “most-favoured nation clause” particularly w.’jih reference to the development of regional preferences and of systems, of import quotas. ‘3. Described as “The Empire’s Ship of. Destiny.” tbe Empress of Britain lies a.t Southampton ready to depart on Wednesday with the British delegation, to the Ottawa Conference. She. will have seven Cabinet Alinisters on board and eighty secretaries, clerks and typists. Wireless telephone will keep the Alinisters always in touch with Whitehall.
The last full British Cabinet meeting for many weeks will be held to-day. .
BRITAIN’S UNEMPLOYED.

Tn the light of the Lausanne objectives an interesting comparison is provided h,v. Britain’s 1,747,509 unemployed at June 27, which represented a month’s increase cf 6037, or a yea.r’s increase of 82,454, and 'Germany’s total of 5.476,000 at June 30, representing a three months’ decrease of 653,000, while dole recipients have decreased by 90,000' yi past fortnight. . ...
