The Waikato miners, in their ballot, have decided in ‘favour of the new .'•agreement. The mines will -resume work to-mor-row on the basis that ( was agreed upon by th 6 men’s representatives and the ccal owners in the conference at Wellington last week. ,V ' .

By a majority of nearly four to o":e, the miners of the Waikato rnd Hikurangi coal fields decided to-day to accept th e settlement of the Northern Coal Mines dispute which was effected” by their delegates at the conference with the Minister of.Labour and the representatives of the coal mine owners in Wellington last Friday. WHANGAREI, July 11. Y.Tftere was a secret ballot of the, Hikurangi. Miners’ Union'' this morning concerning the Wellington conference agreement. The officials of the Union are as yet reticent as to the outcome, but it is understood that the decision has been in favour of returning to work o'n the Wellington terms by a .small majority. It is. stated that the Hikurangi men iare, now waiting the result of, the Waikato ballot.
