SPINSTERS SWINDLED,

For having obtained £IOO from a two middle-aged spinsters by selling 1 them a potion supposed to bring, them husbands, Mrs Ethel Wilkinson was sentenced at Bridlington to. 18 months’ gaol. Wilkinson supplied to the two women, Dora and Mabel Lyne, a preparation called “Zep.” She claimed that if a piece of material worn bv the Lynes was soaked in it and burned she could see the Lvnes’ future husbands in the smoke, and could influence their minds to(wards marriage.
. Miss Dorn, Lyne agreed to Wilkinson’s request to sell her jewellery when her funds were exhausted. ■. •
Wilkinson said that she 1 used the proceeds to sprinkle “Zep” on Dora s intended husband/ apparently to prevent him from, bolting. ,
