The New Zealand, Meat Exporters’ Association has served the freezing workers’ union th-rougheut the Doriiin ion with the propositi- for a new agreement to replace the one which expires at the end of the present month. The new proposals contain remedial alterations to the- existing conditions and rates of pay.
The working conditions in the employers’. ne'W terms have been almost entirely overhauled and the rate?, of pay have been reduced froih the former rate for sheep of £2 per 100 less 10 per cent., to £1 9s per 100. Lambs (including ram lambs) have been reduced from £1 17s 6d less 10 per cent, to £1 6s per -100. There are also corresponding reductions in the grilling rates.
