A decrease in the number of the registered unemployed by 14 .is recorded in the official' figures, for New Zealand for the week ended. July 4'. The total number registered throughout the Dominion was 54,328 as compared with 54,342 for the previous seven daye. '{• . . i - The weeks total includes 42,975 men' who were employed on the No 5 Relief Scheme. This left 11,363 men unplaced or standing down, the smallest number for many weeks. There has been a fairly steady decrease in the number of. unplaced! men oach week, and it is anticipated! that there will be a further reduction in this total when the revised scale of relief is brought fully into effect..
