KING’S HOPE
' EFFORTS TO REVIVE TRADE. LONDON, June 27. The King sent a message to the Advertising Association’s convention trusting that its efforts to revive trade would be completely successful. Lord Leverhulme, in his presidential address said that the world was undoubtedly waiting fo rthe lead which Great Britain had invariably given in the past. The convention must consider how to use advertising in this year of opportunity. “Wo cannot secure prosperity by advertising for it-, hut we must’ increasingly realise the essential part played by advertising in stimulated producton and facilitating distribution. We must avoid vis much as-jip - rffile reducing advertisements merely because it would seem to fie the line of lenet resistance in a temporary difficulty. Our first duty is to maintain faith in advertising, and on. second duty is to employ it to secure the greatest efficiency.”' Mr*F. J. Marquis, a Livernool bn'ihoks man declared tlv’t no more valuable medium of getting quick advertising results existed than the newspapers.
