PREMIERS MEET
REQUEST TO BANK SUM OF £17,000,000 WANTED. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 9.2 n a.wj SYDNEY, July H. The Premiers’ conference resumed ■their deliberations at Sydney to-day. A statement issued to-night intimated that "tile conference will ask the Com monwealtli Bank Board to make available £17,000,(XX), whereof £10,000,00:) are to cover deficits, and the remaining £,7,000,000 for works, and absorption of unemployed. The question of floating an internal loan, and also to provide work for the unemployed has been referred to a committee of Treasury officials ioi a report. The Prime Minister announced that the Federal Government contemplated no interference by the Government with the exchange as it regarded R as an economic, not a political, matter, which would continue to be handled by the CommdnweaLth Bank.
