He is a meddlesome old gent, and ? annoys his daughter-in-law to distraction. He is forever bringing in his tiny pal, ragamuffin Dickie, whom he met while spading the backyard. He entertains his cronies who drop ashes on her rug. He harangues the would-be-modern matrons of her club till they i y leave ip high dudgeon. He meddles genii . erally. Grandpa overhears her comJt plaints to Fred, and without blaming Qy her, decides to become a resident of the ' Home for the Aged. Rushing post haste to his room. for the admission money, he finds that it has been stolen, t Remembering sorrowfully' .that wee Dickie once filched some fruit from a cart when they were walking togethei, he goes to the tenement, where Dickie’s caretakers —the evil Crowley and his woman, Sadie—deny knowledge of the theft. ’ Dickie, seeing Crowley with the money, informs Grandpa-, who gets it back and turns Crowley over to the police. Dickie has returned the suit the old man bought him, and is in rags again when Grandpa, locates him. Since the Home for .the Aged admits ‘gentle- ■; men under, ninety’ Grandpa insists that Dickie should be eligible, and the two are finally, admitted amid boister- , ous applause. A good supporting programme will be shown. WESTLAND TALKIES CIRCUIT. ' The following programme will l>e presented at the various centres during next' week by the above circuit: — “DIRIGIBLE.” A' picture that combines the timeliness of to-day’s newspaper with the compelling drama of. .an established stage hit is to be seen next week on the Westland Talkies Circuit. It is x Columbia’s “Dirigible,” in which the fine talents of. Jack Holt, Ralph Graves and Frank Capra are once more com- . bined. .j - -

“Dirigible”, is a graphic tale of courage high adventure and hazardous endeavour. It carries its audience from the thrilling scene of a Navy day aeronautical exhibition to the dreary wastes of the Antarctic regions, and 1 then to the boisterous warmth of the typical reception which New York s ; crowds accord a visiting celebrity. It is filled from the first reel to the last with exploits of daring and with stirring action, but it is in the poignant, human drama that much of the charm of the picture is ot be found. Ralph Graves, hero of “Submarine,” “Flight” and variolas and sundry other Columbia successes, enacts the role of a dare-devil navy flier whose wife, torn by a torment of fear, connives top revent his taking a proposed flight to the South Pole. She appeals to his. friend who secretly loves her, and the tight is temporarily halted. He goes later, however, and crashes his ’plane at the Pole—and then to add another touching bit of drama, his friend goes to bis rescue in the gigantic dirigible Los Angeles and brings .him back to find happiness with the woman both love. The supports are of an attractive nature and complete a capital programme. ft.
