TUNNEL BLOCKED

LYTTELTON TRAIN HOLD-UP. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) | CHRISTCHURCH, July 1. As a result of an electric locomotive breaking dftwjt/Eihhout 400 passengers on 4 workmen’s train from Lyttelton to Christchurch were held up in the tunnel from 7.22 till 8.40 this morning. The whole service was disorganised for several hours. The trouble was due to a- driving wheel seizing. Eventually shunting engines putted the train back to Lyttelton and it left again about 9 o’clock, arriving without further mishap.
