The annual report of the Empire Mar. keting Board says despite the public’s diminishing buying power, new records were established in. the quantities of imports of twenty-five Empire products, including' Australian wheat, flour, pork, butter and eggs, New Zealand lamb and butter. ' The “Buy British” campaign definitely increased gtbe public’s determination to goods.j. The policy of canvassing retailers was highly successful. In six months, personal calls in the principal Lancashire towns, resulted in the proportion of sellers of Empire butter rising from fifty-six to seventythree per cent. The consumption of New Zealand butter in certain districts has doubled in the last two years.
