A HUGE DEFICIT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received this day at 9.25 a.m) WASHINGTON, June 29. At midnight on Thursday, United States closes thfe fisoail year, and embarks on a new period with additional revenue producing machinery, and auxiliary economic programme, which promises to produce sufficient income to keep tile Treasury in order. On Wednesday the deficit was 2,837,644,914 dollars and on June 21st. loot it was 902,716,000 dollars. A year 1 before there was a 183 million surplus, established at the end of eleven consecutive years of profitable operations. For the fisc all year of 1933 Gov-ernment-officials aver there is expected to accrue 3261 million dollars in taxes. This is sufficient, says* Mr Hoover, to impregliabiy establish the, credit of the Federal Government.
