ANGLO-GERMAN DIFFERENCE

RUGBY. June 28

Asked in the House of Commons today whether any retaliatory action against Germany was being considered on the grounds that the ' British coa export trade was subjected by the Germans to unfair discrimination, the Secretary of overseas trade, Major JColville replied that the German Government did not admit that their action involved discrimination against the United Kingdom, and had proposed that the matter he referred to arbitration, in accordance with the arbitration clause of the Anglo-German Commercial Treaty of 1924. At the same time, as certain other 10,1 •' questions were outstanding between the two Governments, that proposa was now receiving consideration.
