SHIPPING LOSSES

Forty-eight «hips of 238 thous'.imd toil's, one quarter of North German Lloyd’s total tonnage, are laid up. The balance sheet shows a nett loss of .£458,900 sterling. The Hambuirg-Ainerica line loss was £230,800. In order to cover the looses both Companies are writing off two thirds of their capital.
