CHRISTCHURCH,- June 28
By nine votes to eight, a mol ion to impose a 10 per cent, cut 011 the wages of municipal employees and to abolish tli w present subsidy of 2s per clay on relief workers’ wages, wa.s rejected at. a meeting of the city council yesterday.
The discussion lasted 'from 8.30 p.m until 11 D.m.
Councillor A. E. Armstrong voted with th„ official Labour members, giving tly,.a a majority on division.
