Due to the serious economic situation in Bombay, whose cotton trade and other business has been brought to a stalndstill by Congress intimidation, tlie Government has issued an ultimatum to cotton brokers and merchants saying that, nnl'em Congress is defied and business carried on, the city trade will be taken over by the Government. Merchants are eager to resume normal trading, but, being closely linked with Congress by means cf financial

. There was a revival of terrorist outon East Bengal to-day when Kamakhya Prasad Sen, a special'magistrate, of Dacoa, wans shot dead in bed at clo?e range, hlr, assailant entering by a window while Sen was asleep. He leaves a widow and a large family. Sen is the first Indian magistrate to be killed by terrorists.
