GELIGNITE THEFT

(Per Press Association — Copyright.) AUCKLAND, June 27. Two seamen, Harry Collins, aged 57. and Peter Kelly, aged 53, both with previous convictions, were sent to gaol to-day for stealing 501 b. of gelignit belonging to tbe Government, from the relief camp near Pokeno.

The police said that the gelignite had not yet been traced. One witness 'said that the accused told him that they were going to blow up fish.

“That gelignite was not going tc he used for fishing,” said the Magistrate, Mr Hunt, in sentencing both to six months’ hard labour nad Collins to twelve months’ reformative detention.
