PROTEST TO AUCKLAND CLNB.
AGAINST MR CARRY’S HORSES
(Vt'v Press Association— Copyright.)
AUCKLAND, June 24
In the Great Northern Hurdle Race, run at Ellerslie on June 3, Air J. J. Corrv’s Landmark and Make Up finished first and second, and Alussrs E. and N. Foreman’s Full Alnrk third. A protest ha,s now been received by the Auckland Racing Club against Air Corry’s horsey being allowed to run in the race.
A Supreme Court action was brought by Air Corry jn regard to the ownership of Coupier, who raced in hi,; colours last season, but in August lent a partnership was registered in Croupier between Corrv and John and James Paterson, of Auckland. Air Justice Herdman found that the horse, was owned by the Patersons, and it is as a consequence of this judgment that Messrs Foreman are appealing. They wish to test the eligibility of Air Corry’s horses to take part, in the Great Northern Hurdle Race in view of the Supreme Court action. The stakes have been paid out to Afr Corry. but the Auckland Racing Club will consider the protest shortly.
