‘“Europe will have to go bankrupt, then America will clear off the war debts, ami Europe will have a chance to recover,” said Mr W. Goodfellow, managing-director of N.Z. Co-op. Dairy Co., speaking at the annual meeting at Hamilton to-day. Mr Goodfellow pointed out that New Zealand’s prosperity was largely bound up with the war debts question. Once Europe had recovered, much of the goods now flooding the English market would be diverted, and New Zealand’s primary products would receive a chance, again. “I am not a pessimist, but I think the immediate future is bad, and may be worse, before it is better, but within two years there should be a turn for the bette' •
