WOMEN FIGHT

SCENE IN ASSEMBLY.

(Australian Press Association.)

SYDNEY, June 23

A sensation marked the re-opening of the New South Wales Assembly todav. Two women in the Ladies’ Gallery engaged in a fight, and before the messengers could separate them, one was severely scratched on the face, kicked and punched. The quarrel arose over politics.

Sir Daniel Levy was elected Speaker of the Assembly.

The new House is so lopsided, owing to the Government’s huge majority that it became necessary for several of the Government supporters to make use of the Opposition Benches.
