ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

I By Tele.aroph —/Vr Press 4 ttnfiation 1

CHRISTCHURCH, June 22.

Values in most lines to-day showed a further easing at the Addington live stock sale, which is reviewed as follows:

There was a small offering of store sheep, mostly of attractive lots among the ewe section. The lambs comprised a few cull lots. ‘ The sale had a firmer tendency for better class sheep.

There were very heavy yardings of mutton. Fewer outstanding lots were penned, and a smaller tail end. The bulk of the offering comprised medium weights of good quality. Exporters were operating fairly freely. The market, however, was slightly easier. There was a small entry of fat lambs, mostly medium and light lets Values were easier, there being no especially prime lots to create spirited competition. There was a much smaller yarding of beef. The anticipations were for a rise in values. Such a rise, however, did not eventuate. Only very prime handiweights met with a slight change. Very heavy cattle and medium lots showed no rise. Best heavy bullocks sold up to £lO 7s 6d, prime £7 5s to £8 10s, medium £5 5s to £6 2s 6d, inferior' £3 2s 6d. Extra heavy prime heifers sold to £9 7s 6d, prime £5 7s 6d to- £6 17s 6d, medium £3 15s to £4 17s fid, light from £2 12s fid. Best heavy cows sold to £6 12s od, prime £4 5s to £5 15s, medium £3 10s to £3 17s fid, plain from 30s. There was a good demand for prime sucker calves.
