YUGOSLAVIA MAY CHANGE KINGS.
DELEGATION .to ENGLAND.
LONDON, June 18.'' Tlie London “Sunday Express” stated, recently that it understood a delegation of Yugoslalvia-n deputies, led l>y a former Cabinet Minister, was going to London to offer 'the throne of Jugoslavia to Prince Arthur of Connaught, nephew to King George. It was ..stated that King Alexander, of Yugoslavia, did not feel too secure on his throne. He was understood to have placed £7,000,000 to his credit in London in case of eventualities; the story added.
Worslav M. Petrovitch, former attache to the Serbian legation l in London, was quoted as saying that the delegation was headed by Svetoyat Prihitchevitch, a former Cabinet Minister.
Rumours of discontent in Yugoslavia, some going so far as to say that spring might bring serious trouble for King Alexander, have been current for some time.
The king was reported to have 'lost maiiv faithful supporters after the promulgation of the country’s new constitution. This document presaged the end of the dictatorship which the King established in January, 1929. A new Parliament was assembled and since opposition parties declined to take part in the voting the Legislature was 100 per cent. pro-Govern-ment.
Some of tne people were aroused by the speech from the throne which was rend at the opening of the new Parliament. It omitted any mention of a rdur" to libei-tv. free speech and a free Press, summing up the dictatorship by remarking that the King was sure everybody had been glad to have lived under his regime during the last three years. -
