YEAR’S ACTIVITIES REVIEWED

PALMERSTON NORTH, June 20. file annual meeting of the Dominion group Herd Testing Federation, was held to-day, Mr Dynes lulton presiding. I Dr Singleton stated that the question of subsidy from the Government 1 was in the lap of the gods. At the | same time, he hoped the Government would, feel that herd testing should receive every consideration. Mr Riddet speaking of the course at Massey College, said that 229 certificates had been issued to date, and these men were capable of handling herd testing work. He paid tribute to tbe type oL men taking the course, j stating the Federation would reap ' the benfit from these men later. Mr Fulton gave notice of motion that the management ■ committee evolve a wards system for the election of tbe management committee.. Officers wore elected as follows. President, Mr Fulton. Management Committee. G. R, Herron, J. Parlane (South Island), 0. H. 801 l naki), E. D. Tremaine fNorth Auckland, A. T. Carroll (Wairoa. M. 8.), \V. J. Law (Bay of Plenty. The question ol appointing four representatives to the central executive was referred to the Management Committee. The Conference d.vscusseti cull cow 6 : biit decided to postpone action till next year, though it was agreed that mark to distinguished cull cows at sales was desirable. It was decided to make .the nilts issued by the Federation binding on all affiliated associations, with the right of the Management Committee, to make any concessions thought necessary. The rules wore amended tc allow the South Island Associations date for the testing season to be July 1 intend of June 1. Remits making amendments to the rules were also adopted.
