WELLINGTON', June 21

The correspondent of the Press Association writes under date June 11:—'Ide.nl weather prevailed . for the King’s Birthday Regatta, and the races were well attended. Lau’.ii village won the first boat race, and Leiaga tillage the other. A ball at Government House wars a great success, there being 250 present.

Hie Excellency, the Administrator, left on Bth June for his annual visit to iSavaii, which will extend to the 16th jnst. Visits will be paid to the pr'ncipal districts and villages in Snvaii. The Administrator will make a similar “malaga’’ .around Upolo from tile 11th to 22nd July. .

H.M.S. Laburnum will arrive from (Suva on 23rd Juno, And on June 25th will depart for Tokelaus, taking the Admini-trator lor his annual visit there, returning to Apia on June 30th. The Diomede will arrive on 28th Juiy and will depart on Ist August. Mr A. MacDonald, Collector of Customs, returns to New Zealand in July, hi* term of office (having expired. The motor ketch Choiseul, which had been moored in the harbour, sank when being towed towards the beach, where the yacht Carnegie was beached a few years ago. -Ml efforts to raise; the Choiseul have so fur been iiniieressi'ul. Burns Philp and Co., are the owners.
