FIFTH FREEMAN OF SELKIRK

DUNEDIN, June 20,
In the royal borough of Selkirk in Roxburgshire, Scotland, to-day, Sir John Roberts will be admitted to the
select company of freemen of his native town, an honour that has boon jealously guarded and has been accorded to no more than four personages in the past. The ceremony to-day forms' a feature of the celebration of the centenary of Sir Walter Scott.
