THE WESTLAND SUB-UNION.

The WestUuid Rugby Sub-Union met iaet evening. Present: Messrs J. Stafford (chairman), D. R. Dowell,. p. McGregor, J. McOleary, W. Stopforth, R. McDonald and F. Freitas.- , : The Canterbury Union wrote forwarding the names of seven - Senior Clubs who were prepared to visit Hokitika at the invitation, of the SubUnion. •

It was ultimately decided that the Merivale Club be invited. The Excelsior Club wrote advising the appointment of Mr A.. Thompson delegate to the Union. The application of P. Parker (Ross) for re-classification to juniors was ap-

proved. The Sub-Union approved of the transfer of A. Woolhouse from the Kokatahi Club to- Kiwi. The referee of the v Rose v. Rimn senior match (D. A- Head) reported having ordered off J. Growcott (Riinu) and 0. Wright' (Ross). It was decided that both players be plaoed on the caution list, four members dissenting. An amendment, that ( Growcott be stood down for two playing Saturdays was lost. < Mr ,T. Stafford was appointed manager of . the Dittman Shield team for Saturday, and arrangements ■ concerning. the match, together with, particulars of training were considered. Mr J. Dev fluey was appointed eu.mh of the Ultra. . •. .. ~ It was decided to submit the names m A. Cutbueh and E. W. Hwnan to Gi’ey month as referees for SaturdayThe United Club/ 'Westport, wrqte seeking a match with Excelsior later in the season. The matter was ' referred to the Club in question.
